We follow THL’s recommendations and prioritisation for seasonal vaccinations, with details to be confirmed in due course.
Healthy individuals under 65 without underlying conditions that increase the risk of severe COVID-19 do not require an additional booster dose. The previously recommended three vaccine doses, together with any COVID-19 infections, continue to offer strong protection.
Who belongs to the risk groups?
- Elderly individuals living in care homes or receiving regular home care
- All individuals aged 65 and over
- People of all ages with severe immunodeficiency

We offer COVID-19 vaccinations free of charge only to those in the risk groups.
Vaccinations in institutions, home care, maternity clinics, and school and student health care
Hospitals, senior centres, service homes and home care services, as well as maternity clinics, schools and educational institutions in Helsinki, are responsible for vaccinating their own clients.
- Hospital wards, senior centres and service homes in Helsinki administer vaccinations to their own clients.
- Clients receiving home care and their informal carers who fall within the vaccination recommendations will receive the vaccine through home care services.
- Home care services will contact eligible clients to arrange the vaccinations, including clients receiving outsourced home care services.
- Vaccinations for this group typically begin in early autumn.
- Booster COVID-19 vaccinations are available for pregnant people at the Ruoholahti and Malmi units.

- Children aged 6 months to 15 years with severe immunodeficiency may receive a COVID-19 booster vaccination if recommended by specialised health care.
- Vaccinations are given at the Ruoholahti and Malmi units.

- Students with severe immunodeficiency can inquire about vaccination appointments from the centralised student health care service.

- Students who belong to a risk group or are eligible for vaccination due to a close contact will receive the vaccination at their own school.
